International Federation of Actors (2013). The Moral Rights of Performers: Current Situation and Survey Results on the Moral Rights of Dubbing Artists. FIA

This study by the International Federation of Actors examines the legal framework and practical application of moral rights for performers, with special attention to dubbing artists. Triggered by the adoption of the WIPO Beijing Treaty and FIA resolutions, the report analyzes international treaties, national laws, and survey data from 30 unions across 25 countries. While most countries recognize basic moral rights—such as the right of paternity and integrity—their enforcement is inconsistent, especially for dubbing artists. The report highlights widespread gaps in practice, legal limitations, and the need for stronger collective agreements and policy reforms to ensure fair attribution and respect for performers’ reputations.
